A Federal Flood Damage Reduction Project
Public Meeting
One part of the GRR process is keeping the public involved throughout the study. The Galveston District of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (Corps) held a public meeting on September 11, 2003 at the Klein Forest High School. The purpose of the meeting was to present the proposed federal flood damage reduction project for Greens Bayou and accept oral and written comments from citizens regarding the proposed flood damage reduction project. Several citizens gave oral comments at the meeting and postage paid comment cards were handed out so that citizens could provide written comments by mail.

Citizens were encouraged to take comment cards to friends and neighbors who were unable to attend the meeting. The official comment period for this meeting ended October 11, 2003.

Before the meeting, an "open house" was held. Information on the proposed Greens Bayou Project was displayed and project team members were available to answer questions.
